HIGHTSTOWN, NJ -- Three titanium dioxide pigment grades recently received approval by the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF). These chloride process rutiles, KRONOS 2200, KRONOS 2210 and KRONOS 2220, are suitable for potable water pipe applications.

Blue-toned grade 2200 provides high tint strength and is suited for use in PVC and PE plastics. Also a blue undertone, grade 2210 is readily wetted, easily dispersed and used in masterbatches and liquid colorants. grade 2220 confers excellent exterior durability and dispersion, maximum brightness and hiding power; it is suitable for various resin types as well as powder coatings.

Approval of these plastics grades brings the total number of KRONOS' grades with NSF approval to seven. Others include 2073, 2101, 2020 and 2071. Recent approval of the three grades now gives plastics processors the widest selection of grades usable in potable water pipe.
