KRONOS INTRODUCES HIGH-PERFORMANCE TiO2 PIGMENT GRADE FOR STATE-OF-ART DELUSTERING POLYESTER FIBER

06/28/2000 | Susan E. Alderton | Chief Financial Officer | (281) 423-3332

KRONOS, Inc. now offers a new member to its line of titanium dioxide for synthetic fiber production. The new grade, KRONOS 1080, is an anatase pigment for delustering and coloring polyester fibers. It is described as a fully comparable alternative to competitive grades on the market.

Uniform particle size assures fiber processors the absence of coarse particles which can disrupt fiber processing. The grade is very bright, with blue undertone, and it has good light fastness and low abrasion. It readily disperses in ethylene glycol. The grade permits the production of highly concentrated pigment suspensions with low viscosity.

Specifically For Polyester

For PES masterbatches, pigment concentrations of up to 40% can be achieved with this new grade.

KRONOS 1080 for polyester joins six other KRONOS grades tailored for the fibers market. Other specific grades are designed for nylon, polyacrylic, polyamide, polyolefin, polyurethane, viscose and acetate. Differences in surface treatment allow dispersion in the various solvents used during processing.
